Arrawnt:
So, Medion. Are you trying to say that this explosion is not the work of the Republicans! What do you think about his words? Mageron, my brother?
Mageron:
Those masked monks... Why would they want to create such a commotion?
Garzel:
This doesn't make sense. Who else could gain any benefit from this commotion?
Franz:
It's true that those pegan monks act strange. But there is no evidence showing connection between the commotion and their act..
Grantack:
So, General Garzel and General Franz, are you trying to say Prince Medion and the two of us with him are lying?
Campbell:
They tried to kill us to conceal their plan. Isn?t this enough to prove this story?
Mageron:
You made a good point, Campbell. But you have to show us evidence!
Medion:
......
Garzel:
The dead bodies of the monks have vanished. Where are the other evidences?
Campbell:
Nothing could be left after such a big explosion.
Arrawnt:
We are getting nowhere without anything to support this pagan monk treachery.
Crewart rushed in, slamming the door.
Crewart:
Big trouble! The Emperor!
Spiriel:
Whoa. General Crewart losing his self-control? Now that's something you don't see every day! What?s going on?
Crewart:
Bring him in!
A soldier helped a severely wounded soldier walking in.
Mageron:
Why you are... one of father's... the Emperor's guards! Didn't you go to the peace conference?
Franz:
Why do you look like this? What happened to you?
Imperial Guard:
Be...Benetram...
Mageron:
What? What about Benetram?
Franz:
The Emperor... Don't tell me...
Imperial Guard:
King Benetram has abducted The Emperor. The Imperial Guards are all killed.
Spiriel:
But you survived.
Imperial Guard:
Ca... can't... see the faces... of those people... They are wearing mas...
Crewart:
Enough! Now take him upstairs and take good care of him.
Imperial Guard was taken away.
Franz:
What is the meaning of this? General Crewart!
Crewart:
The meaning of what? What do you mean, General Franz?
Franz:
Why didn't you let him finish his words? It looks like he's going to tell us something important!
Crewart:
Have you ever heard of something called "respect for human life" ?
Spiriel:
Well, well. Did you just say, "respect for human life"? That's the last thing I would expect to hear from you!
Arrawnt:
(Shouts) Enough of this needless quarrel! Now that we know Republicans abducted the Emperor, shouldn't we hurry up and take some action?
Mageron:
That... that's right, Arrawnt.
Garzel:
This is different from Prince Medion's predictions. The Republicans are definitely who's to blame.
Franz:
So it is the Republicans' plot after all... and Benetram is behind all this.
Mageron:
They must have done this to restore Barrand. Call out the army we stationed on the plain outside of Saraband!
Spiriel:
Those cowardly Republican... Kidnapping our Emperor... THEY WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS!
Franz:
Wait, wait. General Spiriel, your mission is to guard Prince Mageron. Our opponents would be two powerful generals accompanying the King-- Edmund and Varlant! Let my army deal with them! My army is willing to reinforce any troop, under Prince Mageron's order.
Spiriel:
Why you.... General Franz!! Are you trying to say that my army is no match for them?!
Mageron:
Don't be irritated, Spiriel. Franz just doesn't want to put his wife in danger.
Spiriel:
That... that's an embarrassing thing to say in front of all these people....
Garzel:
Garzel's army will also take action, representing Prince Arrawnt's side. I will fight Edmund.
Arrawnt:
Very well. The sooner you take action the better.
Campbell:
Prince Medion... our army can also join the purging of the Republicans. It would be the first challenge for Medion's army.
Crewart:
You will only become our burden, Campbell!
Arrawnt:
Ha ha. Medion's army doesn't have any battle experiences. I really wouldn't expect them to help in actual combat.
Mageron:
Our Imperial army is invincible. I will not send Medion's hurriedly built army to the front line.
Crewart:
I have an idea. Since Medion's army doesn't have any experience, wouldn't it be a good idea to leave them under the command of General Garzel?
Fiderit:
But this is too... If you take his army, how would Medion prove his abilities?
Arrawnt:
Fiderit! Whose side are you on?! I agree with Crewart. Garzel has triumphed in so many battles he could make the most of those inexperienced Medion soldiers. You may go and lead your army out of Balsamo now, Garzel!
Garzel leaves but Crewart stopped him
Crewart:
General Garzel, the battle with General Edmund would be an excellent match, but bear in mind that Railroad is one of the Empire's critical military positions. Now that General Produn of the Republic is stationed there, I would strike him as soon as possible if I were you.
Garzel:
I see. I'll head for Railroad as soon as I am done with Edmund.
Mageron:
You may go as well, Franz.
Garzel & Franz leave
Arrawnt:
All right. Now that the Empire Force is on the move, we can just wait here for them to bring back the good news.
Mageron:
I am concerned about Franz. He has ability but seems a little absent-minded lately...
Arrawnt:
The Republicans will learn their lesson for good. They conflict with our Empire all the time. Now they will pay dearly for this!
Crewart:
This peace conference was for restoration of Barrand, which was originally territory of the Empire! What nonsense it is to ask us to give it back.
Spiriel:
If we are not willing to give it back in the first place, what?s the point of coming to this peace conference?
Crewart:
It was Governor Garvin's proposal. We don't want to disgrace him.
Bresby:
The Republic is too hasty. Now we have the excuse to nail them all. It won't take too much effort.
Arrawnt:
You are right, Bresby. How naive of them, thinking they could permanently set their independence. We won't let this happen.
Yasha suddenly appears and whispers in Arrawnt's ears
Yasha:
......
Arrawnt:
...... (whispers back)
Spiriel:
Prince Arrawnt and his follower seem to enjoy private talks. Don't you think so, Prince Mageron?
Mageron:
That's the kind of person Arrawnt is. That Arrawnt... a person that should never be underestimated. Even in his childhood...
Arrawnt:
No, no. Don't say that, my brother. Yasha, you may tell everyone what you just said.
Yasha:
General Garzel, along with Medion's army, is moving northwest while battling against Edmund's army. In the mean time, Franz's army is battling against unified armies of Tybalt and Varlant. They are clever and separated into two parts, heading northeast and northwest. Benetram is not with any of these armies. He seems to have escaped via the docking pier already, with Synbios' army.
Medion:
......
Crewart:
In other words, Yasha, you didn't find out where the Emperor is!
Mageron:
Okay, where is this Synbios's army? Where are they heading now?
Arrawnt:
Did you find out which direction they are heading?
Yasha:
They defeated the Saraband Docking Pier Squad. Looks like Sarabond Horsemen have been sent. But no further information yet.
Mageron:
You wait here until more information arrive.
Arrawnt:
What are you going to do, my brother!
Mageron:
I will go out to look for Synbios's army!
Crewart:
But Prince Mageron! Our man and theirs are fighting now. It's dangerous to get messed in the middle of a battle. They could kill our own man by mistake.
Arrawnt:
Time for us to move on. The Republicans are seeking for a chance, and we?ll make sure they don?t get any. I'll choose the generals who go to the frontline! Fiderit will be suitable for this job. Shall we utilize father?s? the Emperor?s Imperial Guards? Since this is an emergency, the Imperial Guard will be under my command.
Crewart:
Shall we search from the sea?
Spiriel:
It's not my style. But if I am not going to fight the Republic army, at least I can search for the Emperor on the sea.
Spiriel leaves.
Mageron:
She is a bit too masculine... I'm afraid that Franz is going to have a hard time with her in the future.
Crewart:
Sly guy that General Franz... engaged with such a woman.
Arrawnt:
What did she see in him anyway... picked General Franz... If only we knew sooner...
Mageron:
What are you talking about? You two... Don't tell me you are interested in Spiriel!
Crewart:
(blushes) Er-hum! My ship is leaving! We must hurry up and join the search for the Emperor.
Crewart leaves.
Arrawnt:
Medion, if you want to be useful, search for defeated Republican soldiers remaining around here. Destroy them before they become bandits.
Arrawant leaves.
Mageron:
Why leave in such a hurry...?
Mageron:
Campbell, do you still want to continue serving Medion like this? If you have any intention of serving me, I can make you a general in no time. How about it? Want to decide now?
Campbell:
I am very grateful of your offer, Prince Mageron. But I, like Prince Medion's mother, Madam Melinda, was born in the lower class.
Mageron:
So that's the reason, wishing to stay with those who are also in lower class... Very well. You may well just take care of the remaining soldiers with Medion.
Mageron leaves.
Fiderit:
Very brave of you to say that, Campbell. It must be this personal trait of yours that convinced the Emperor to let you follow Prince Medion. Huh, if there is anyone who has any anticipatation in Medion, General Rogan would be the only person you can find.
Medion:
......
Fiderit:
I am serving Prince Arrawnt now. This is the Emperor's request from the very beginning. So everything is still under His Majesty's control.
Fiderit:
General Rogan is guarding Barrand and couldn't manage to come. If he were here, Prince Medion wouldn't have to put up with all these embarrassment. But please take this hardship as part of your experience that helps you grow.
Fiderit:
The Emperor summoned all three princes here for the conference and had expectations in every one of you. Prince Arrawnt had sent Yasha to call the Captain of Imperial Guards to come and see me. Please go now, Prince Medion. Do not fail the Emperor.
Fiderit:
I will wait here for Yasha and the Captain of Imperial Guards and cannot leave. Please go now. It's time for your journey to begin.
Soldier 1 at 2nd floor:
Someone suddenly droped from the ceiling and attacked us by surprise! Now the Imperial Guard is dead. Why would anyone want an Imperial Guard's life?
Soldier 2 at 2nd floor:
(There?s no response...)
