 Shining News Scenario 2 & 3 Game Translation no longer a dream!

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you - there has at last been some success with putting English text into a rip of the Japanese Shining Force III Scenarios!
For a long time now we've all thought it would be nigh-on-impossible, but one determined SFCer has at last cracked the encryption/compression in the dialogue files, and you can see it for yourself!
It's not perfect yet, and of course it will take time to find exactly where all the text belongs and inser the translations, but it's a fantastic breakthrough and gives us the real possibility of being able to play these fantastic games in English  Great work, knightOfDragon, we're all rooting for you!

Unfortunately, many years ago when the Aspinia Team worked on the Scenario 2 translation, they stated they did not want their work put into the game, due to the risk of HK bootleggers selling translated discs and therefore profitting from their hard work, not to mention ripping people off for something they should be able to pick up for free. A few from the team are still around and in contact with the SFC community, and will agree to the use of their work - but if any of the others are reading this, please drop me a line or sign up and make a post to give the yay or nay on your parts of the translation. I've been told that these days the risk of a bootleg translation disc being released is not so great as it was... and surely after all these years, the potential joy of playing the games in English far outweighs the risk of bootlegging anyway?
