Shining the Holy Ark
USA Version Script
Dungeon
Script typed up by: Rune
Arthur, Rodi, and Melody find themselves in a dungeon cell.
Rodi:
You know, it was foolish of us to have come here without a plan.
Melody:
I agree! Foolish is an understatement! Now what are we going to do?
Melody:
You're a Ninja, aren't you? Ninjas are supposed to be able to vanish into thin air. So why don't you do something?
Rodi:
Please remember, only half of me is Rodi. I have no control over, nor little knowledge of, my other half.
Melody:
Well, that's great. We can't count on Rodi. So what are we going to do now?
Doyle:
Maybe I should lend a hand.
Melody:
Doyle...? Is that you?
Doyle is hanging upside down on the ceiling of the cell.
Doyle:
I DID tell you not to go to Enrich, didn't I?
Doyle transports himself down to the ground.
Doyle:
I saw the whole thing. What were those things that emerged from the King and your friend? It scared even me! Against something like that, you had no chance. The mask I gave the boss was usless.
Narrator:
Doyle removes Rodi's mask.
Doyle:
Boss, are you sure you don't feel like returning home with me? Everyone in Far East Village is waiting for you.
Rodi:
Nope, I'm not interested. Just tell everyone to wait a while longer for my return.
Doyle:
I left the boss in your care because I trusted you. I'll give you another chance to prove yourselves, so you'd better not risk his life again.
Doyle unlocks the cell door.
Doyle:
I've unlocked the door. Hurry and get going. Turn left and follow the path to the well, enter it, then follow the path that leads into the waterway. It runs underneath the castle. Once you get there, the rest should be easy.
Doyle:
I'll wait for you at the village. Take care of yourself.
Doyle jumps up.
Doyle:
Oh yeah. Before I go, I should tell you that there's a passage down there that's blocked by a wall-like door. I left the key in the bottom of the well.
Doyle disappears.
Rodi:
Sheesh, he's not much of a conversationalist, is he?
Melody:
Let's get going, Arthur. We can talk about our plans later.
Dungeon Well
The group reaches an inner chamber and Sabato appears.
Sabato:
My name is Sabato and I was once the chancellor of the palace. Have you heard of me?
YES/NO
If YES
Sabato:
So you've heard of me. I was rather famous, wasn't I?
If NO
Sabato:
So... you don't know who I am. I'm just a minor player, eh? Umm... well, that's not important, now.
Sabato:
I saw what happened between you and the King... You are very courageous! You must have known that something very odd was going on. Yet, still you walked into the throne room anyway.
Sabato:
In a way, thanks to your courage, we now have some idea of what that hag is planning. This is a lucky break for us.
Melody:
Sabato, you knew about the King and Forte?
Sabato:
I didn't know exactly what was going on. That's why I couldn't do anything.
Rodi:
So, now that you know the situation, are you planning to do something about it?
Sabato:
I can't do anything about it by myself. Unless you're willing to help me...
Melody:
Us, help you?... But how... can we help?
Sabato:
I and some others have known for a long time that today's crisis would be coming. We have been preparing for it.
Rodi:
So you just need a helping hand, right? What can we do?
Sabato:
Go to Aborigine Mansion and meet with master Galm! Everything starts from there.
Melody:
Why us...? Why are you asking mercenaries like us?
Sabato:
Melody, don't you want your partner Forte back? Arthur promised to help Melody, giving his word as a mercenary, correct? Do you not think that these are good reasons? They are sufficient. Also, you may be able to find better equipment for yourselves along the way.
Rodi:
Sabato, I.... What is my reason for going?
Sabato:
Something happened to you Rodi, did it not? Did you lose your memory in an accident? Of course you have a reason to go. It's your destiny. You are lead by destiny, and the other two will share that with you.
Rodi:
My... destiny?... You mean I met Arthur and Melody by fate?
Sabato:
I do not know, Rodi. I know nothing for sure. The only thing we know is that two men and one women are required. You were selected as one of them. The other two are... unexpected. But that too, must have been fate. I sent you to Godspeak because the person who holds the key to our future told me to. I was told that your fate started there. He informed me that if you returned safely despite Rilix's interference, this would be proof that you were the chosen one.
Rodi:
This 'person'... would be master of the mansion?...
Sabato:
Yes... the master of Aborigine Mansion is a very hard man to deal with. Although it is destined for you to meet him, I doubt he will let you do so.
Rodi:
We must meet him... but he won't let us? What do you mean?
Sabato:
Although he supports our struggle, he is not directly involved. If he does not want to cooperate he had no need to. We are the ones asking for his help, so he is testing us. Testing us to see if we are worthy enough to justify the risks he will have to take. The first test is to find the key to the mansion. It is located somewhere in this waterway. You will do it, won't you?
YES/NO (repeat if no)
If NO
Melody:
If you refuse, Forte cannot be rescued! Don't do that!
Sabato:
The waterway beyond this point is very complicated, and there are monsters everywhere. It has access to the surface, so you can get the equipment you might need from the town. Be sure to find the key to the mansion!
Sabato:
Well, before you go, let me help you as much as possible. May I do anything else for you?
YES/NO
If NO
Sabato:
If you need my help again, please come back.
If YES
Sabato:

Sabato:
The key is somewhere in the maze. Go and seek your destiny.
Sabato:
Before you continue to explore the waterway, let me help you as much as possible.

Enrich Dungeon
Arthur and the others reach the center of the dungeon and examine a skeleton lying on the floor in front of a chest. The Skeleton magically reconnects itself.
Skeleton:
I have been... waiting... for the one to come and receive this key. Now finally my geas is finished. I can rest in peace. The key is yours... but the quest is... just starting! Now you must solve... the mystery of Aborigine Mansion!
Skeleton:
...heh... Let me tell you something before I go. It's the secret to solving the mystery of the Aborigine Mansion. Engrave these words upon your heart!
The hidden path in the mansion can be opened with a furniture switch. The power of the invisible spirits can be calmed with holy water, by doing so the book will be yours... When the non-ticking hand says tea-time, and if the gray knight, who challenges everyone to a duel, can be made to serve, then the ruler's door will be opened from the bed of the dead. Have you take that in?
YES/NO
If YES
Skeleton:
You would do well to reflect on this. Luck be with you.
