When the Djinns not are sealed
Parn:
Mars...its terrible power...too strong. Pazort lies...in...in the palm...of the Titan's hand! I...tried to stop him, but his power has grown...to unbelievable levels!! Listen carefully. The only hope is for you to seal all the Elementals again. Without their power to, sustain him, the Dark Titan will be unable to revive...But if you fail, there will be no way to stop Pazort. He'll be invincible...Ungh...I think I'm getting some feeling back in my...legs. That ray blast of Pazort's packed a...ungh...mean punch...Just...go! Find the Elementals and imprison them once more. They're somewhere down here...
When the Djinns are sealed
Parn:
Ungh...so...how'd it go? Really? All of thhe Elementals have been resealed? That's...fantastic! That means that the Dark Titan will not be able to break free, and...Pazort will be vulnerable. I can't believe I've been put out of commission at such a crucial time! It's not fair, but since I'm out of the picture, the entire fate of all in Palacia rests with you. You must face Pazort and emerge victorious. I know you can do it, Mars. Make me proud!
Final boss room
Pazort:
Grroaaa! The power...it's fading! Ha! Mars! You are the cause of this, Son of Jiles! Your father died fighting my dragon those many years ago, and it's taken me until now to devise a scheme to gain back what was rightfully mine!
Pazort:
I've not come this far to turn back at the whim of a child, regardless of his pedigree.
Pazort:
If I release the Elementals quickly, there is still a chance to continue the revival! But I must have the Orbs you possess to achieve that...I will relish the task of prying the Orbs from your cold, dead fingers, little one.
Battle begins
When the battle is over
Pazort:
Harrrgghhh! How can this be? Jiles has taken his revenge from the beyond!
Pazort:
This isn't over yet, Mars. I have saved the best surprise for last. I will not be traveling to the underworld alone. You're coming WITH ME! Hahahahaha!
Explosion
Pazort:
Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh....
Parn:
Uh, oh. I don't like the sound of that at all. I wonder what's going on?
Pazort:
"Harrrgghhh! How can this be? Jiles has taken his revenge from the beyond!"
Parn:
Wait! It sounds like Mars actually won!
Pazort:
"This isn't over yet, Mars. I have saved the best surprise for last."
Parn:
Surprise? what is he talking about? I don't like the sound of this one bit...
Pazort:
"I will not be traveling to the underworld alone. You're coming WITH ME! Hahahahaha!"
Parn:
Noooo! Mars...Mars...
Explosion
Parn:
Oh no! This can't be happening!! Mars must be...
Parn walks up to the boss room. Mars is gone
Parn:
*gasp*!...I..I don't believe what...what I'm seeing!
Parn:
The west cape in the center of the marsh...the rock...it's GONE! It's ALL gone...Pazort's last act of defiance just decimated this place...
Parn:
Mars!...Mars!!...Mars!!!
Parn:
Mars!!!
Parn:
Hello...Mars...?
Parn:
C'mon Mars...PLEASE answer me...you simply must be here somewhere!!!
Parn:
Or, perhaps not...
Parn:
This...can't be happening! After all Mars endured to get to this point...he finally saves our land, but at the expense of his own young life...Why couldn't it be me! I would gladly trade my life for his! I've failed...were I not such a poor fighter, I could have overcome my wounds sooner! Then I could have fought at Mars' side! Perhaps then, things would have been...different. I don't know how I'm going to break this to the others...I just don't know...
Parn walks back to the castle
Guard:
Oh, Sir Parn!
Guard:
What's with the long face? Has the Dark Titan's revival been completed?
Parn:
*sigh*...No, the Elementals have been sealed again, restoring the Titan's prison bond.
Guard:
B...but that means that we're all safe! Peace has returned to Odegan!
Guard:
Oh, Sir Parn! You will be the most revered hero in all Odegan! I will waste not one second telling all the good news!
Parn:
But....wait! I didn't tell you about...*sigh*...
Parn walks inside the castle
Guard #1:
Sir Parn, I heard that you prevented the return of the Dark Titan!
Parn:
The Titan was sealed once again, but I did not...
Guard #4:
C'mon, no false modesty, buddy! You did a great job! Peace will once again warm our hearts!
Parn:
Yes, peace has returned to Odegan, but the price was quite high...Excuse me, I must give my report to the King.
Guard #3:
Gotcha! I just wanted to say that I'm glad you beat that stuck-up Mars to the Titan. It's nice to know he can't do everything better than just about everyone else!
Parn:
Mars is...he's...*sigh*...I mean to say...you don't know what he's done for...us!
Guard #3:
Hey, wait! Sheesh! He's a little on the sensitive side, isn't he?
Guard #4:
Yeah...I wonder what's gotten into him...
scene change. Mars is standing in nowhere
Gudo Fairy:
Mars...Mars...awaken!
Gudo Fairy:
Mars, you did it! Thanks to your heroic efforts, Odegan was saved!
Gudo Fairy:
Your brave determination was the only thing strong enough to stop Pazort...And now that he is gone, the Titan shall remain sealed in darkness forever! Hooray!
Mars:
......
Mars:
......
Gudo Fairy:
It's normal to be a little disoriented, Mars. For you see, this is not Odegan.
Gudo Fairy:
Think back to your battle with Pazort...especially the final seconds...you won, remember?
Gudo Fairy:
But, the moment before he left the world, Pazort used his power to end your life, too. Mars, this is neither life nor death, but the place that lies between. You're dying, Mars. Even as we speak, your soul slips further from the world of the living.
scene change, in the castle
Guard #1:
Ah! Sir Parn! Welcome back!
Guard #1:
The castle is ringing with the joyous news of your triumph over Pazort! This day will go down in history as one of great joy!
Parn:
......
Guard:
I don't mind telling you that towards the end, I was starting to worry about Mars' ability to win this.
Parn:
I think Mars always knew he'd win, but I don't think he knew the ultimate cost...
Guard:
"Ultimate cost?" What the heck are you talking about? Did something happen to Mars???
Parn walks away towards the main hall
Guard #1 outside throne room:
Sir Parn...welcome home. Looks like you really did it, huh?
Guard #2 outside throne room:
Once the ground started shaking, I thought the hours of the Odegan Empire were numbered. I can't tell you how happy I am to be alive and talking to you right now.
Guard #1 outside throne room:
Excuse me, Sir Parn...I know you're probably weary after the battle, but will you promise to tell me of the battle in the Catacomb Marsh sometime?
Guard #2 outside throne room:
I have a feeling that you were braver than even Sir Jiles of old.
Guard #2 outside throne room:
We all knew his son, Mars, didn't have what it takes. Say, uh, where is Mars?
Parn:
You pathetic, ungrateful pigs! Mars has risked his neck from the beginning...and now you...you treat his efforts like yesterday's garbage!
Guard #2 outside throne room:
Whoa! Slow down...What's wrong with you?
Parn:
You're not worthy to even know what really happened...just let me pass, you...ingrates!
Guard #1 outside throne room:
Ya know, THAT is exactly why I hate Elves. I was trying to pay a compliment, and LOOK! You just never know where they're coming from...it's gotta be the ears...
Guard #2 outside throne room:
...well, I guess we'll hear the details later. I think he was trying to say Mars bit it. I mean, I thought Mars was kinda arrogant, but it'd be terrible if he didn't make it!
in the main hall
Chancellor:
What can be keeping Sir Parn?
Sir Kaizel:
I'm certain that he is drained after his efforts to stop the Dark Titan's revival.
King:
Ah, yes, well, drained or not, there he is!
Parn:
Majesty, Sir Parn, ready to report.
King:
Yes, yes, enough with the formalities...out with it lad! What happened?
Parn:
As you must know by now, the quest to stop the Dark Titan's revival was...
Chancellor:
Was WHAT? Don't keep us in suspense!
Parn:
was......successful.
King:
Excellent! Fantastic work, Sir Parn. Tell me, what became of Pazort?
Parn:
Pazort was defeated as well.
King:
Really? You mean to say that the Black Scourage is finally finished? Oh, wonderful!
Salah:
Oh Parn! You truly are a man worthy of the highest honor! I don't know why I ever worried...
Satera:
Umm...Sir Parn...what about Mars? Did he...help to stop Pazort?
Satera:
I...I mean...shouldn't he be back here...by now?
Parn:
Salah, I can't keep this in another minute! Mars was the one that stopped Pazort! He was the one that stopped the Dark Titan's return. he did...everything!
Sir Kaizel:
Then, wehere is the boy? We must congratulate him!
Chancellor:
Sir parn, I'm certain you're being too modest. You must have been behind Mars' success.
King:
As my darling Satera pointed out, we were so happy to be saved, we forgot about Mars.
Salah:
If Mars did everything, then that means...
Satera:
Sir Mars was...the one who...resealed the Elementals, stopped Pazort, and...saved us.
Parn:
But for Odegan's freedom, he paid the heaviest possible price...just like his father.
Parn:
I'm afraid it's true. And, Satera...know that Mars wanted to see you again most of all. He loved you, you know. I think he was searching for the words to tell you.
Satera:
T...this isn't possible! Mars can't......can't be...
Satera:
He's coming back! I know it! You're lying! *sob*
Parn:
Satera, if there were any way to bring him back, you must know that I would! Mars was so brave! He had a steely resolve in his eyes when he went to finish Pazort. He removed the threat of evil for us...and especially, for you.
Satera:
But WHY did he have to...oh! I can't bear to *sob* even think it...*sob*...
Parn:
I know. It cuts me to the bone just to remember the sound of his voice...
King:
Yes, it seems that we all owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude.
Chancellor:
Hmmm...perhaps I was a little hard on the boy. If only I could tell him how sorry I am.
Sir Kaizel:
If I had known what the outcome would be, I would have never let him go. How will I ever tell his grandfather? The news will surely kill him.
Chancellor:
Sir Kaizel, if he had not gone, we all would not be standing here right now. There simply was no toher way...
Parn:
I can't stand here and talk about this any more. C'mon Salah...
Parn:
...let's go...back to Granseal.
Hobbit Elder:
Wait, Sir Parn. Do not be so hasty in your grief!
Hobbit Elder:
I understand that you are grieving the loss of your friend, but is he really gone?
Scene change
Gudo Fairy:
I wish it hadn't come to this. Great things were ahead of you, Mars.
Gudo Fairy:
Oh dear! The guardians are coming for you...our time grows short...
Gudo Fairy:
Oh Mars, I understand your feelings. Death is not a thing easy to embrace. However, it is your destiny...
Mars:
......
Gudo Fairy:
Once your fate is set, there is nothing you can do to change it...
Gudo Fairy:
But there is something I can do...It's against the written law I am sworn to uphold, but I cannot let you die. You, who were so brave in the face of overwhelming odds to lay evil itself to rest.
Gudo Fairy:
Since you are not yet dead, there is time for me to place a new soul within you. My punishment for such an act will be severve, but...
Gudo Fairy:
Sleep now, Mars! When you awaken, you will once again be in Odegan.
Gudo Fairy:
Farewell, dear Mars...
Mars:
......
Gudo Fairy:
This will be our last encounter. I will remember it always...to sustain me in the Labyrinth. For the moment you awake in the world of the living, I will be banished there for Eternity.
Mars:
......
Gudo Fairy:
But, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for one so selfless and heroic...Mars, never forget the courage inside you. For that is what sustains us all...
Mars:
......
Gudo Fairy:
Farewell, Mars...fare...well.....
scene change, in the castle
King:
W, what... are you saying? You mean...Mars is alive? ...Really?
Hermit:
Let me think of a simple way to explain it...hmmm...
Hobbit Elder:
Perhaps you should tell them what you told me earlier, Hermit.
Hermit:
Yes, that probably is the best way to have them understand.
Hermit:
After I sensed the resealing of the Elementals, I felt the force of great conflict. It was as if two powerful opposing forces were clashing with tremendous power!
Hermit:
I could almost see Mars and Pazort trading magic attacks!
Hermit:
The battle appeared to be turning in favor of Pazort, so I went in search of the Gudo Fairy.
Hermit:
However, just as I arrived at the Fairy's cave, I heard Pazort's anguished cry as he perished.
Hermit:
Greatly relieved, I was just about to tell the fairy that i didn't need her help, when suddenly I heard the cry of another soul, Mars' soul, as it left this world.
Parn:
Pazort must have dragged Mars into the abyss with him!
Hermit:
Before Mars died, I may have been able to help, but after...well that's another matter. The law clearly states that we are not allowed to change the fate of a person, once sealed.
King:
Yes. The law, however maddening, is binding upon all magical creatures, fairies included...
Hobbit Elder:
It's a lesson I learned the hard way during the Palacia War. If the law is broken, the offender is stripped of magical power and sealed away in a dark labyrinth.
Hermit:
Yes, well, despite those risks, the Fairy left to find Mars...
King:
You mean to say that she intended to change Mars' fate? What was the outcome? Did she rescue Mars from untimely death?
Hermit:
All I know for certain is that the Fairy left with the intent of rescuing Mars.
Mars appears for a split-second
Hermit:
But, I wouldn't count on her breaking the law of Nature. The punishment is too severe...
Mars appears for a split-second again
Hobbit Elder:
We'll simply have to await the outcome...
Mars returns slowly
Satera:
The Fairy must have broken the Law!
King:
Darling, I know that you want desperately to see Mars again, but don't...
Satera:
No father! LOOK! Can't you see him? He's right here amongst us!!!
King:
By Odin! I don't believe it! It is him!
Sir Kaizel:
Sir Mars!
Chancellor:
Sir Mars?
Parn:
Oh, thank goodness!
Salah:
I don't believe it!
Hermit:
Then the fairy...
Hobbit Elder:
HaHaHa! Mars!
Satera:
Oh......*sob* Mars...
Satera:
Sir mars!!...
Satera:
Mars!
Satera rushes into Mars' arms. Credits roll
The End
