STORICH
Dantares:
Even though we rushed here, the town has already been turned upside down by the Baersol army. We can't do anything until the west gate opens. However... I have a bad feeling about this... We better be well rested in case we have to engage in a battle at any time.
Penn:
CHIRP, CHIRP!
It seems the egg hatched. How cute!!! It seems there's something he wants to tell you...
Penn:
CHIRP.. CHIRP, CHIRP!
Because of the Bulzome Sect is an enemy of his friends in the north, he would like to help if you fight them.
Penn:
CHIRP, CHIRP!
Girl:
The Baersol army invaded Storich, but they retreated when Synbios' army came close. That's why the town did not sustain much damage... If you came just a little bit later, the whole town could have been wiped out.
Man:
The Baersol army was saying something about being a decoy to attract your attention! Everything seems to be related to each other. I wonder what's the real purpose behind all this... And who is calling the shots?
Gal:
People from the country of Saraband are rich... It's hard to tell the difference between us, except by their expensive clothes. It doesn't show much on my clothes, but I've had to patch them up a lot.
Kid:
I'm so hungry... I smeel something delicious! Hmmmm... Salisbury Steak... Cheese Omelet... Being poor stinks! Knowing their neighbors are poor, they should be more considerate, and not tempt us with the aroma of food... That's pretty cruel... We've resorted to dreaming about wonderful food. This is going to scar me for life!
Train Guard:
Now that the war has broken out, no one passes through without a permit granted by the Governor General!
Young Man:
Even though Baersol is a part of the Republic, their army marched on to Storich. No matter how bad this year's harvest was, I can't believe they tried to steal goods that rightfully belong to the country.
Woman:
When I was a little girl, I remember coming here by crossing the Baldric Strait over a stone bridge. The Baldric Strait runs south from the Inland Sea, and serves as a sea-borne trading route between the Republic and the Empire.
Old Woman:
I heard the train whistle early this morning, and listened for the steam engine coming closer and closer. Because of that, I knew that the rail tracks have been repaired...
Old Man:
Why did they close down the west outer protective wall of Aspia? There's a good distance between the wall and downtown Aspia... You never know what people might be doing right outside, or even inside the wall.
Worker:
If you go to the volcanic mountain hole, watch out for the dragon! Don't provoke him, and he won't attack.
HOUSE NEXT TO HEADQUARTERS
Man:
Since the King of the Assembly is safe, I figured the internal affairs of the country would stabilize, but... Baersol began to mobilize its army. Recently, the Republic military is becoming similar to the Empire.
Woman:
I can't believe two armies of this country fought against each other. In the Empire, I heard that internal battles to obtain the right to rule occur very often. I hope the Republic doesn't start to emulate the Empire.
Bookshelf:
Attack aggressively with warriors in training! A person may have a strong will, but odd things happen in war!
BAR
Waitress:
People who work at the train station have a lot of free time. They only work during the arrival and departure times. They come here griping about their lives, but sometimes they get quite drunk... and they pinch my butt!
Merchant near Storich:
I was anticipating the failure of the peace conference. I've been waiting inside the Republic border for a while... but there haven't been any orders for weapons yet, and I'm beginning to get bored just waiting around.
Merchant near Train Station:
So you think Aspinia is poor... I, however, think differently. When the weather turned, and the harvest became dismal, I received an order for a massive amount of good. The payment was made in solid gold...
Young Man:
You're Lord Synbios of Flagard! The west gate leading to Flagard is closed... Is this a big inconvenience for you?
If NO
Young Man:
I'm relieved to hear that... If the son of Lord Conrad is in a jam, any one of us would eagerly help you out.
If YES
Young Man:
Hmm... There IS a passage in the volcanic mountain. Go southeast from here, and you'll find a cave. It's supposed to lead to Flagard. It's very dangerous, but if you need to get by right now, it may be worth exploring.
Train Employee blocking Train Station:
I cannot let you pass through here. If you need passage, get a permit from the Governor General's office.
Train Employee East of Table:
The girl working here is a babe, isn't she? She's my type... But I can't say that to her face, so I pretend to be drunk to get near her... Heh heh... then I pinch her butt!
Train Employee West of Table:
This place... The drinks here are pretty bad... Do you think it's because the Republic is poor?
If NO
Train Employee West of Table:
I wish I could be reassigned back to Railhead... My taste buds are more suited to the food and drink they have there. The food is different depending on where you live, and I think food really affects your disposition.
If YES
Train Employee West of Table:
I wonder if that's true... Aren't there only a few places that can produce wine? When I was in Railead, I had an expensive wine that was produced in the Republic. It didn't taste like this at all.
Bartender:
All the train workers keep saying that the bars in Railhead serve better drinks... I got so sick of listening to them, that I started to pour them cheap drinks on purpose. Jerks! That'll teach them a lesson...!
CHURCH
Girl:
I hope those evil looking monsters won't come to town. If a bunch of them came in together, the people would panic, and looting might occur.
Old Woman:
The war against the Empire and the invasion by Baersol... The world's going mad, so I'm praying to Elbesem.
HOUSE NORTH OF SHOP
Old Man:
Everyone is so worried because war against the Empire broke out... If all the commoners united under the banner of the Republic, those rotten, Imperial, country betraying, selfish swine would be no match for us!
Old Woman:
Granpa can't tolerate the Destonia Empire under the rule of Emperor Domaric. Even though times have changed a lot, he still has the image of the old Empire. That's why he takes the Empire so lightly.
HOUSE NEAR WORKER
Young Man:
Nowadays, I see evil looking monsters I've never seen before... Do you think they're sent by the Empire?
If NO
Young Man:
If not... I wonder what really is going on... The Great Wall is supposed to stop all evil monsters.
If YES
Young Man:
What? Really? I heard the Empire was strengthening its forces, but I never imagined they'd use monsters...
Girl:
About the war against the Empire... I heard the Imperial army is proud of its powerful military weaponry. Does the Republic even stand a chance? If the Republic... lost... I wonder what would happen to us?
Bookshelf:
Don't forget your secondary units! Make sure you train them too! You never know when you may need them.
