Maya Village
Swedish-English Translation by: Magnus Andersson
Japanese-Swedish Translation by: Anonymous
Kate:
.....
Kate:
Nothing in this direction.
Donhort:
There is nothing in this direction either, Julian.
Isabella:
This is not the right direction. There is no Maya village.
Benetram:
What about over there, Gracia? The village is not here.
Gracia:
Perhaps we missed the road to Maya. Though we searched the area we still didn't find it.
Donhort:
That is not possible, Gracia. Though we were moving quickly, we searched the area thoroughly.
Kate:
Um...what's this?
Isabella:
What's the matter, Kate? What is it?
Kate:
Isabella, I hear a quiet and strange noise. What is it?
Benetram:
Quiet and strange noise, Kate? What does it sound like?
Kate:
Well, it is humming...as a lot of bees far in the distance.
Kate:
No, it couldn't be. Now it sounds like something rotating...wings.
Benetram:
Yes, indeed!
Benetram:
Julian, everybody! Gather around Kate.
Benetram:
Kate said she heard strange noises. It is coming from that direction.
Donhort:
What's over there?
Benetram:
It is the village of Maya.
Isabella:
This is the village?
Benetram:
Maya is the remains of an old culture. They are guarding Ark Hill. According to their tradition, their houses are able to move.
Julian:
.......
Gracia:
Julian, I'm surprised as well. A tradition about houses moving around in the air. I can't believe it, even though it see it with my own very eyes.
Kate:
I remember Walcuray. Ancient culture. I'm scared.
Benetram:
But the people of Maya will welcome us. Julian, lets enter Maya.
Everybody sweatdrops
Scene change
Kate:
What should we do? All houses are floating in the air. We can't contact the people.
Donhort:
People are probably asleep as it is the middle of the night. The nerves of Maya can't be normal.
Julian:
?
Donhort:
As for me, I can't sleep. I would be afraid to leave the ground.
Gracia:
Sleeping in the air is a tradition from old times. This is normal for these people.
Benetram:
That is worrying for us. We can't contact or communicate with them as they are asleep.
Isabella:
The sound is coming from the rotating wings. There are no other sounds.
Gracia:
I looked around the area. There is a church over there.
Gracia:
Should we head into the church, Julian? Perhaps we could find some information about Maya and Ark Hill.
Benetram:
As the people are sleeping in the air, I doubt that the priest would be on the ground.
Benetram:
There is only one alternative, and that is to wait at the front until dawn. It would be a good idea to visit the church. In order to meet the people of Maya, we have to wait til tomorrow, don't we?
Headquarters
Rollie:
So this is the Maya Village. I've heard things about it.
Harold:
If we want to get in touch with the villagers, we'd better go and talk to the priest in the church.
Bridget:
We didn't know more about Destonia in the past. During our travel, we have experienced several surprises, but Maya is the greatest surprise of all.
Leon:
Um, Maya's culture is of great interest. My wild vision is coming out.
Isabella:
The Northern world is unknown to us. This culture is advanced with technology.
Honesty:
How could the houses be floating in the air? That would be against the laws of gravity.
Jubei:
Um, these people are strange. Taketonbo, rotors on the roof is making the houses able to fly.
They came here before we did and occupied the village.
Edmund:
It appears as the villagers are asleep. But why do they have to lift their houses while sleeping?
Gracia:
The Maya Village is protecting Ark Hill. Their culture must be very well developed with floating houses, mustn't it?
Kate:
The method to make the houses floating in Maya is not of the same kind as making the Valkyrie to fly. There is sound of rotating wings, isn't there?
Donhort:
This village has a great culture. What are the villagers like?
Benetram:
We have heard that Maya has a special culture. But I didn't believe we would see floating houses. The church is the only building which is not floating. That's where we have to go.
Exiting the church
Benetram:
To see the people of Maya, we have to wait til tomorrow.
Donhort:
It looks like the church is about to lift also. They have strange habits, don't they?
Kate:
Nobody could be in a deep sleep in the air. Don't they think that would be unnatural?
Isabella:
They have a great technological knowledge, but floating houses in the air, what for?
Gracia:
You too feel that way. It is really strange, Julian.
Benetram:
What? Couldn't it be because of the enemies?
YES/NO
If NO
Gracia:
They are not scared of us. There are evil forces that want to destroy the Maya village. I think we have to do battle.
If YES
Gracia:
We are far away from the river. There are probably evil forces in this area.
Benetram:
The people of Maya are lifting their houses to stay away from evil.
Isabella:
Even though we are close to the society, there are evil powers. Very evil. Be careful!
Benetram:
I think we have to fight, Julian. We are all tired after this long walking. We must do this battle fast and effective.
after the battle
Donhort:
That was the last of the enemies.
Gracia:
Now we could have some peaceful rest at the camp.
Kate:
Everyone, look! The house is going down!
One of the houses goes to the ground
Isabella:
Why did the house go down? Does this mean that we could see the people of Maya tonight?
Kate:
Observe this house closely.
Donhort:
What is it? Nobody is coming out.
Kate:
There is a light inside. What could it be?
Gracia:
Could they be watching us from the inside?
YES/NO
If NO
Benetram:
The people of Maya are considering whether they should greet us or not.
If YES
Benetram:
The people of Maya probably heard the battle on the ground and want to investigate.
Primula:
The evil creatures are gone.
Primula arrives
Primula:
Hm...they are all destroyed.
Primula:
You are very strong, aren't you?
Primula:
Your clothes do not look like ours. You don't belong to this side, do you?
Kate:
What do you mean with "this side"?
Primula:
I refer to the North side of the Great Wall. That's where you came from. The gate of the Great Wall has opened, am I right about that?
Primula:
These clothes are probably because of the war. Yes, it means the beginning of the thousand-year war.
Isabella:
The thousand-year war?
Primula:
Something that happened thousand years ago. The settlement between Innovators and Vandals.
Primula:
Soon, a divine child with a clean soul will appear. When Maya has done one thousand years of duty.
Primula:
?
Julian:
.......
Primula:
You possess the spirit!
Primula:
I'll hurry to wake the old man up.
Benetram:
Could that wait until tomorrow?
Benetram:
I believe the old man needs his rest. We too are tired after this long march. We'll meet again tomorrow morning.
Primula:
As you wish.
Gracia:
We didn't mean to interfere. We just wanted to know about Ark Hill. That's why we came to Maya.
Primula:
Would it be alright to stay at the base?
Primula:
OK, until tomorrow then. Sleep well at the base.
Next morning
Kate:
Aaah, what a beautiful morning!
Isabella:
Yes, I can't imagine we did battle here last night. It is like it never took place.
Donhort:
That fairy from yesterday, is she alright? Did she speak to the old man?
Primula:
Yes, I spoke to him, knight.
Donhort:
Oh, there you are, the fairy from yesterday. I don't like to be called "knight"! My name is Donhort!
Primula:
And I don't like to be called "fairy"! My name is Primula!
Gracia:
Good morning Primula. Did you talk to the old man?
Primula:
Yes, the old man wants to see his godchild...
Benetram:
We too want to see the old man. Primula, could you lead the way please?
Primula:
Gladly.
Primula:
This house belong to the old man. Please step inside.
Julian enters the house
Primula:
Ishahakat, I brought them here.
Ishahakat:
Welcome. Gracia, Julian and Benetram, representive leaders of the Republic.
Benetram:
You know us? Have I seen you somewhere before?
Ishahakat:
Hmm...I'm very fond of travelling. I met you earlier during your journey. I remember you, there are three of you.
Gracia:
We met you earlier on our journey? I'm sorry, but I can't remember.
Ishahakat:
Don't worry. This journey was very free and I'm pretty sure you don't remember me.
Donhort:
But the only way is through the gate of the Great Wall. How did you get to our homeland?
Ishahakat:
Travelling on the ground is not the only way. You could go by air or from the sea as well. This is another country, Donhort.
Donhort:
You seem to know me as well. Who are you, old man?
Ishahakat:
Hold on, you two.
Ishahakat:
That is not important right now. What's more important is for Gracia to go through Evolution in order to become an Innovator. This is the first priority.
Ishahakat:
Regarding Ark Hill and Remotest, you better see with your own eyes.
mechanical sounds are heard
Kate:
How would we do that?
Isabella:
Ugh...this place is creepy.
Ishahakat:
Don't worry, Isabella. The house is just taking off.
Gracia:
The house taking off? We don't have any experience of such things.
Ishahakat:
Hmm...that is true. You'll get used to it very quickly. Soon you won't think about it anymore, Julian?
YES/NO
If NO
Ishahakat:
You shouldn't worry about such trivial things. The wolf [sic: He is referring to Julian] is crying, although his fangs are sharp.
If YES
Ishahakat:
Hm...you are very dependant. Your nerves are stronger than the others.
Julian:
.......
Ishahakat:
Well, everyone, shall we go outside?
Outside, on the roof
Ishahakat:
Ark Hill is over there.
Isabella:
Over there in the desert, is that what you mean?
Kate:
Though it is named Ark Hill...the hill doesn't look very sacred.
Ishahakat:
The ground looks like a desert. The first test is to transform it into a hill.
Donhort:
Transform a hill out of the desert. That that the first test?
Ishahakat:
That is what Primula says. But it is probably not a hill, more like a ancient monument.
Gracia:
So if I pass this test, the ancient monument of Evolution will appear? Is that what you mean, old man?
Ishahakat:
Ho, ho. Yes Gracia, don't you understand?
Benetram:
Gracia's powers from Inovator will be clearly visible at that ancient monument. Could we procceed towards Bulzome's shrine from there?
Ishahakat:
Yes, you could. You could see that shrine as well.
Ishahakat:
We'll bring the house above the clouds.
The house goes up above the clouds
Kate:
Yes, we really are above the clouds. We lifted it so high!
Isabella:
As we reached so high, it must be very cold here.
Ishahakat:
As we have reached this level, the machine can't keep the house at this height for long.
Benetram:
We are above the clouds. You could see Remotest from here.
Ishahakat:
Uhm...the clouds are rather thick...could you see the other temple?
Donhort:
Right, over there!
Ishahakat:
That is the capital, Remotest. Further away is the shrine. To the left and right of the shrine are squared towers.
Benetram:
Uhm...I wonder...
Gracia:
What's the matter, Benetram?
Benetram:
The shrine is on the mountain. How do we reach it?
Ishahakat:
Right...uhm...yes...how?
Primula:
Old man, I believe it is written in the old book. It should be written somewhere?
Ishahakat:
Yes, it is written in the old book.
Ishahakat:
It is time to lower the house. We have to investigate this, don't we?
Inside the house
Ishahakat:
The air is very clear up there.
Benetram:
Old man, about reaching the shrine on the mountain...?
Ishahakat:
Right, yes...what should I do?
Primula:
Ishahakat, the old book.
Ishahakat:
Could you get the old book, about the shrine?
Ishahakat:
Until that the book arrives, I want Primula to help you.
Ishahakat:
She will be very helpful. Take her with you on your journey.
Gracia:
Taking her with us...that means she will join Julian's army.
Ishahakat:
Earlier, she lived in the town of Enrich. She participated in the battle against the Vandal and knew Julian very well!
Julian:
....
Primula:
Galm was living there, and so was Julian's father. I thought the young Julian was a small boy, not very strong in particular. But now he has become a strong man!
Donhort:
We are grateful for your help in battle. But in order to win a hard battle...
Primula:
I'm not strong enough to be a knight.
Donhort:
Therefore I don't call myself "knight".
Ishahakat:
Primula will be of great use. Julian, she is not the one she was earlier. Her fighting ability has increased.
Benetram:
As she knows about this area, she may know which way to go.
Primula, the fairy of light, joins Julian's army
Primula:
I have been training for Ishahakat, so I believe I will fit into Julians army.
Isabella:
That man went looking for the old book. But what happened, actually? We have been waiting for a while...
Kate:
Yes, what happened?
Ishahakat:
Right, the book of the old temple, what happened? You were delayed, were you?
Man 1:
*sweatdrop*
Ishahakat:
You look pale. What happened? We won't understand if you're silent.
Man 1:
The book of the old temple is nowhere to be seen!
Ishahakat:
What do you mean? Surely the book is not gone?
Man 2:
*sweatdrop*
Something happened earlier.
Ishahakat:
Do you know or remember anything?
Man 2:
Just before the old man came back home, the Bulzome Sect was visiting the village. Something may have happened back then.
Ishahakat:
The Bulzome Sect is visiting this village pretty often. Why are you susupicious about it?
Man 2:
As they are visiting in the darkness, things often tend to vanish. Small broken things and old tools.
Man 1:
I've heard the same thing. As they are coming by, things are often dissapearing.
Man 2:
Last time the Sect was visiting, we checked if anything was missing, but there wasn't.
Ishahakat:
Right...it was back then...
Ishahakat:
We saved the old book to prepare your visit 1000 years ahead. I'm really sorry to tell you that the book is gone.
Isabella:
Benetram, it would be useless to critisize the old man.
Kate:
If this indeed is the work of the monks of Bulzome, they must have taken the book by force, I believe. Julian, we should proceed, shouldn't we?
YES/NO
If NO
Gracia:
Well Julian, a mistake is a mistake. But if this is because of Bulzome, we shouldn't stay here.
Benetram:
OK, Julian. We will proceed. This will be the evolution of Gracia. We will worry about the other things later.
If YES
Gracia:
Exactly. Julian, if they believe we would stay here, it wouldn't be a good thing for us.
Benetram:
Old man, we will procceed towards Ark Hill, in order to raise the power of spirit.
Ishahakat:
Forgive me, Benetram. I beg you, please stop Bulzome.
Around the Village
Man #1 in Ishahakat's house:
The shrine will do the Evolution. According to the old man, there are different kinds of people, and they have an own thought for each temple. The bishop is an apostle of justice.
The is supervising our moves, but wouldn't interfer wether we would do right or wrong.
Man #2 in Ishahakat's house:
Although I tried to prevent it, the old book vanished. It came like a shock to me.
This would explain why Bulzome is sparing Maya. He won't attack us, only take advantage of us.
Ishahakat:
Bulzome sneaked into the village quite often in the past, but I didn't believe he would be a thief.
If the missing book is because of him, other things could be missing also.
I hope the machine of Sarabond is not gone.
Japanese bartender:
The liquor served here in the north contain a lot of alcohol. It is so strong that your head almost will catch on fire. You are accepted as an adult here in the north when you are able to drink this liquor!
Japanese weapon-trader:
(When you want to look at his weapons)
Our weapons are not the same as the ones available on the market.
The are made of the best blacksmiths. Feel free to give them a look.
Japanese weapon-trader:
(when leaving)
Come again, anytime.
Japanese weapon-trader:
(When you are not looking at his weapons)
I'm a workaholic. I can't stop when my work is just is half-done. I guess this night will be a late one also.
Japanese item-trader:
(When you want to look at her items)
If you are planning a journey, you should have a look at the items in our shop. Feel free to give them a look.
Japanese item-trader:
(when leaving)
Come again, anytime.
Japanese item-trader:
(When you are not looking at her items)
My name is Etsuko, but you could call me Etsuko-chan. I'm not very well-known here in Maya, so I need some advertisment to become famous.
Headquarters
Thousand:
I could imagine that history would change when creatures without wings could fly.
Rollie:
If we proceed further north, we will have problems because of the snow.
Harold:
The world in the north is new for us. Earlier we didn't even know of a village called Maya.
Bridget:
Old houses of Maya are floating above the clouds. I envy those people.
I too would like to look down on the ground from the sky.
Leon:
Buruu, buruu, buruu. Julian, I'm shaking, but it isn't because of the cold weather.
I got scared of the floating houses.
Primula:
Do you remember, Julian? The Enrich kingdom, and the event with the Vandal, and Arthur who protected the kingdom? Along with him, Rodi the Ninja, Lisa the Soldier and several others prevented the fire to be spread over other countries.
Honesty:
If we would export the culture of Maya to the Southern world, with its technology to make the houses float, the people would probably be out of work.
Isabella:
It seems as the people tried to fly in the past with help from other people that had wings.
But complete buildings were never able to lift.
Jubei:
If we would bring this culture to the world in the east, we would be able to attack the world in the west and possibly conquer the entire world.
Edmund:
Some things could fly in Maya's culture, but except for that, everything else seem to be just like in our culture. Why is that so?
Kate:
To lift a house to the sky...that was a wonderful feeling!
Donhort:
Why does Gracia have to pass the tests in order to become an Innovator? I don't understand.
Gracia:
While we are resting here, Synbios and Medion are proceeding with their armies. We must hurry and pass the tests, and continue towards Remotest.
Benetram:
People of Maya are not allowed to go through the gate of the Great wall. That is in order to protect Ark Hill. This place is of great importance. The Holy Ark [sic: Shining the Holy Ark] is docking at Ark Hill. Except for Evolution, there is also something else.
Inside the village, when pushing the mining-cart
Sound:
*bang*
Man:
What are you doing with the mining-cart? We are using it! You can't have it without permission!
