Showdown with Pazort
Script typed up by: Magnus Andersson
When the Djinns not are sealed
Kazin:
Mars! The Giant's power...too strong. Pazort is...in...in the palm...of the Giant's hand! The only thing to do is seal all the Djinns. Without their power, the Giant is harmless. If you don't defeat them, however...You won't stand a chance against Pazort! Damn...I can't move. I'm OK! Just go! The Djinns should be somewhere in the labyrinth...
When the Djinns are sealed
Kazin:
Really! You defeated them? The revival is avoided! All that's left now is Pazort. As long as we aren't disturbed by the Giant, it will be easy to defeat him...I'm ashamed that I'm totally helpless at such a crucial time...but...don't let Pazort get away! Please defeat him, Mars!
Final boss room
Pazort:
Grroaaa! The power...fading? Mars! So you're the one draining the Giant's power!
Pazort:
Just a little bit more...the Giant was so close to revival!
Pazort:
But there's still a chance. Surrender the Orbs of the Djinns! When I revive the Giant, I'll give your body to it as a present!
Battle begins
When the battle is over
Pazort:
Mars, I'm done for...I guess being the "Son of Odegan's hero" meant something after all...
Pazort:
I'll be going to the Underworld pretty soon...joining my old friend Odd-Eye. I'm looking forward to...seeing...that place...ugh.
Pazort:
Hahahahaha! But not alone. You're coming with me...As my fellow traveler, nyaaah!
Explosion
Pazort:
Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh....
Kazin:
Did Mars...win...? Agaist...that...horrible...Pazort?
Pazort:
Mars, I'm done for...I guess being the "Son of Odegan's hero" meant something after all...
Kazin:
I guess...he won...
Pazort:
I'll be going to the Underworld pretty soon...joining my old friend Odd-Eye. I'm looking forward to...seeing...that place...ugh.
Kazin:
If Pazort were at the Parmecia War, the outcome would have been different. Heaven must be on our side...
Pazort:
Hahahahaha! But not alone. You're coming with me...As my fellow traveler, nyaaah!
Explosion
Kazin:
What! Mars...
Kazin:
Mars...!
Kazin:
That's right...what happened to Mars?
Kazin walks up to the boss room. Mars is gone
Kazin:
N, no...way...can't...be...
Kazin:
The West Cape in the middle of the marsh...the rock...it's gone! It's all gone...Pazort's power in unbelievable...
Kazin:
Mars!...Mars!...
Kazin:
Mars!!!...Mars!!!...
Kazin:
Mars!!!...Mars!!!...
Kazin:
...No answer...Mars must have defeated Pazort...why...why isn't he answering?
Kazin:
Mars!! Mars!! Please...answer me...What...should I do...!?
Kazin:
This...shouldn't be...happening! It can't be happening! Mars tried so hard, only to have died at the end. Such a young & promising lad.
Kazin:
If at all possible, I would have liked to take his place but, that's not possible. Sorry Mars, I'm going home...
Kazin walks back to the castle
Guard:
Oh, Sir Kazin!
Guard:
I've been watching you for a while, you look so melancholy...don't tell me the Giant has been revived?!
Kazin:
No, the Djinns have been sealed away so the Giant will never revive.
Guard:
W,what? Really! So that means...peace is restored to Odegan!
Guard:
You have my gratitude, Sir Kazin. I will let everybody know as soon as possible!
Kazin:
Hey, wait! There's more...damn, he left.
Kazin walks inside the castle
Guard #2:
Sir Kazin, I heard that you prevented the revival of the Giant. You did a great job! Ha ha ha!
Kazin:
No, that wasn't me...The Giant is sealed away but...
Guard #3:
What's the matter, Sir Kazin? There is no day like today. Now that peace is in Odegan!
Kazin:
Ye...yes...well...I...have got to report to the King!
Guard #4:
I guess even Mars who was promoted to master swordsman could not compete with Sir Kazin's skills! Well, I guess it was good medicine for him.
Kazin:
Mars is...he's...umm......what do they know...?
Guard #4:
Hey, did I...did I say something funny?
Guard #3:
Well, I don't know...
scene change. Mars is standing in nowhere
Gudo fairy:
Get up Mars! Get up...
Gudo fairy:
We thank you, Mars! Thanks to your great efforts, Odegan was saved.
Gudo fairy:
You were so determinded that you defeated Pazort by yourself and stopped the revival of the Giant. Hooray!
Mars:
......
Mars:
......
Gudo fairy:
Sorry, Mars...you're not in Odegan any more.
Gudo fairy:
Do you recall your battle with Pazort? You fought bravely and...won right?
Gudo fairy:
But the unscrupulous Pazort used his last power to take you with him...I'm sorry, but you are dying right now.
Scene change, in the castle
Guard:
Oh, you must be...Sir Kazin!
Guard:
I heard of your success in preventing the revival of the Giant. Well then...today's a day for celebration!
Kazin:
......
Guard:
Mars was failing so I was starting to worry, but anyway thank you very much!
Kazin:
Well...you are welcome...I think a man of merit...Mars in heaven would be happy to hear that.
Guard:
What do you mean a man of merit? You mean Mars? Wa...wait a minute...good heaven...? You mean he...?
Kazin walks away towards the main hall
Guard #1:
Sir Kazin...welcome home. You did it, huh?
Guard #2:
I thought it was the end of...Odegan. I didn't think I would live to see the day when we could laugh like this. I don't know how to thank you.
Guard #1:
Excuse me, Sir Kazin...It won't take all your time...Could you please tell me about your adventure in the Underground Marsh?
Guard #2:
I felt relieved that someone other than Mars finally joined this quest.
Guard #2:
Because Mars was promoted so early, he must have been bragging. I'm sure!
Kazin:
Mars's...Mars's been...risking his life for you, you ungrateful scum....
Guard #2:
What...what's wrong with you?
Kazin:
You...unworthy...bunch of fools...he's gone...trying to save...you people.
Guard #2:
Gee, he talks so much! Hmph! That's why I hate Elves!
Guard #2:
...well I guess I have to be patient. He's leaving anyway. Mars perished as well.
In the main hall
Chancellor:
He's late...Sir Kazin is not here yet!
Kaipa:
Though I know the Revival was avoided, I want to hear the story directly from him.
King:
Look over there! While you guys were babbling, Sir Kazin has arrived!
Kazin:
I, Sir Kazin...have returned!
King:
Thank you for your trouble...well without further ado, please tell us what happened!
Kazin:
The quest to foil the revival of the Giant by resealing the four Djinns was...!
Chancellor:
Yes...the quest was...
Kazin:
was...successful.
King:
Fantastic! We're saved!
Kazin:
And also...Pazort was defeated!
King:
Really? You defeated pazort as well? That's wonderful! Wonderful!
Sarah:
Well done, Kazin! You're a man worthy of honors, aren't you? I have a higher opinion of you than before.
Satera:
Umm...Sir Kazin...I...Want to know...about Sir Mars...
Satera:
I, I mean...well....
Kazin:
Sarah....it's not right! That's not the whole story! Mars is the one...Mars is the one who achieved this success!
Kaipa:
By the way...Mars...Whatever happened to him?
Chancellor:
Oh...That's right...Mars went along too.
King:
We were so pleased that Odegan was saved, we completely forgot about Mars.
Sarah:
Everything...is thanks to Mars? But...but that means...?
Satera:
Sir Mars was...the one who...? Released the Djinns...and Pazort...
Kazin:
So, as long as Odegan is safe, are you saying that you don't care about the welfare of the person who achieved this peace?
Kazin:
Satera...because of what you have said, I'm sure Sir Mars will be rewarded...I'm sure. May he rest... ...
Satera:
W,what?! Why...why are you crying?!
Satera:
Sir Mars! No he didn't...he didn't... Noooooo!
Kazin:
Sir Mars was truly brave. He defeated Pazort...I...I'm...so frustrated!
Satera:
No...it can't be...? Please...say it's not true...
Kazin:
I can't believe that the Princess is the only one who worried about the knight who fought for the welfare of the country!
King:
I...maybe you're right...I was so happy for our people that I forgot...Mars. I promised his Grandfather...
Chancellor:
Well...y,yeah that's true, but who could have thought about him...when...Odegan...
Kaipa:
I see...Sir Mars saved Odegan...but he paid...I should have stopped him...
Chancellor:
Sir Kaipa, there was nothing we could do for him.
Kazin:
What a cold country...I...I can't take this any longer.
Kazin:
Let's go Sarah...back to Granseal! To old Bowie and friends.
Hobbit chief:
That's enough...Kazin, you should forgive them!
Hobbit chief:
I understand how you feel Sir Kazin! But you shouldn't be quite so hasty in your grief.
Scene change
Gudo fairy:
No, this is not heaven.
Gudo fairy:
Oh my...angels are coming for you...
Gudo fairy:
I understand exactly. No one wants to die, but...it is your destiny.
Mars:
......
Gudo fairy:
Once your fate is set, there is nothing you can do...
Gudo fairy:
But Mars, I don't want to let you die. You really have done a lot. I cannot let such a valiant person pass away this close to victory.
Gudo fairy:
Since you are not dead yet, I can still place a new soul inside you, but...I would be breaking the rules, though...
Gudo fairy:
Go to sleep, Mars! When you wake...you will be back in Odegan.
Gudo fairy:
Farewell, my dear Mars...
Mars:
......
Gudo fairy:
Since fairies are not allowed to interfere with the laws of nature, if I save you...I will be imprisoned in a labyrinth very far away and will never see you again...
Mars:
......
Gudo fairy:
But, that's fine...just don't forget...the courage inside you...that makes this all worth while...
Mars:
......
Gudo fairy:
Farewell, Mars...fare...well...
Scene change, in the castle
King:
W,what...are you saying? You mean...Mars is alive? ...Really?
Hermit:
Well, how can I explain...
Hobbit chief:
I think you should tell them what you told me earlier, Hermit.
Hermit:
You're probably right...that may be the best way to explain!
Hermit:
After I felt the Djinns were resealed, unbelievable magical powers were in contest.
Hermit:
I could almost see Mars and Pazort exchanging magical attacks.
Hermit:
The battle appeared to be a standoff between wizard and warrior, so I decided to help Mars and went in search of the Fairy of the valley.
Hermit:
But, as I arrived at gudo, I heard the last cry of Pazort as his soul left this world.
Hermit:
I was telling the Fairy of the Valley that we need not worry. When suddenly, I heard another soul cry out!
Kazin:
I was sure...I had already heard the last from Pazort! He must have taken Sir Mars with him.
Hermit:
Before he died, I might have been able to help him. But once it's too late...you are not allowed to change a person's fate! That's a law of Nature...
King:
it's frustrating, but true. That law cannot be broken even by fairies...
Sarah:
I found out during the War of Parmecia. If you break that law, you will be punished, your power will be taken away. and you will be sealed away in a labyrinth.
Hermit:
That's right. You would be severely punished, but the Gudo fairy left. She went there to see Mars.
King:
You mean to rescue Mars? Did he survive?!
Hermit:
Well, I can't say any more...she just left, and that's all I can say for sure...
Mars appears for a split-second
Hermit:
But, realistically, the Fairy of Gudo wouldn't interfere with Nature.
Mars appears for a split-second again
Hobbit chief:
The Fairy simply went there. But, the Hermit doesn't know for sure what happened. He was just trying to ease Sir Kazin's worries.
Mars returns slowly
Satera:
No...the Fairy...must have broken the law!
King:
I know how you feel, but...you shouldn't expect too much.
Satera:
No...is it. Why can't everyone see Sir Mars? He's right there!!!
King:
He's back! Sir Mars!
Kaipa:
Sir Mars!
Chancellor:
Sir Mars?
Kazin:
Thank goodness!
Sarah:
Amazing!
Hermit:
Really?? He made it!?
Hobbit chief:
HaHaHa! Mars!
Satera:
Oh......Sir mars...
Satera:
Sir Mars!!
Satera:
Mars!
Satera rushes into Mars' arms
Credits roll
